Norway: MOL Norge drills dry well at Mandal High in the southern North Sea - 2/9-6 S 10 Feb 2021 PL 617, is concluding the drilling of wildcat well 2/9-6 S. The well was drilled on the west side of the Mandal High, about 9 km north of the Norwegian-Danish border and 280 kms southwest of Stavanger. The objective of the well was to prove petroleum in Upper Jurassic reservoir rocks (the Mandal Formation). The well encountered a sandstone layer with clay stone elements, about 250 metres thick, in the Mandal Formation. Approx. 140 metres of this was reservoir rocks with poor to moderate reservoir properties. Traces of petroleum were registered in the upper part of the reservoir. The well is classified as dry.

A JPEG XS license pool is currently being set up and expected to be fully rolled out by June 2021. The licensing program addresses the IPR conditions for use of JPEG XS in both cloud-based services and professional and consumer devices.
